AIM

The EDEN Doctoral Seminar on Advanced Strategic Management is co-organized by INSEAD and IESE and will take place at IESE Business School in Barcelona (Spain) from November 21-25, 2016.

Topics covered in the Seminar will include:

  • Value-based strategy
  • Modern methods and models for empirical work in strategy
  • Innovation strategy and productivity
  • Business models and strategy
  • Product market competition and the internal organization of firms
  • The interplay between firm strategies and markets: theory and evidence

The target audience is doctoral students from all over the world, preferably in their second or third year of study, who have covered the basic Management and Strategy courses and are actively developing their own research questions in the Strategy field.

The week will consist of lectures, discussions, and presentations that aim at bringing the participants up to speed regarding the state of the art in Strategic Management research.

EVALUATION

Full attendance is required to obtain the certificate.
4 ECTS will be assigned upon completion of the seminar

APPLICATION PROCESS

Interested doctoral students should register online (and add the required documents) no later than September 30, 2016. Besides doctoral students, other researchers may participate. The number of participants will be limited to create a stimulating environment. The selection among the applicants will be conducted by the Institute’s Faculty. They will review the following documents which should necessarily complement each application form:

  • the applicant’s curriculum vitae demonstrating his/her capabilities of doing research ;
  • a letter of recommendation of his/her local faculty supporting the application ;
  • a two-page description of his/her doctoral research, indicating the general objectives.

REGISTRATION FEES

PARTICIPATION FEE
The participation fee is 1100 €. This fee includes participation to the seminar, the documents, lunches and one group dinner.

EIASM SCHOLARSHIPS
The Institute offers a substantial reduction of the participation fee per member institution (one scholarship per member institution). These scholarships are strictly limited to students coming from an EIASM Institutional (the Academic Council). Allocation of the scholarships is entirely at the discretion of the European Institute.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellations made before October 28, 2016 will be reimbursed with 10% deduction of the total fee. No reimbursement will be possible after this date.

TIME AND LOCATION
The seminar will be held at the IESE, Barcelona, Spain.
The programme will start on November 21, 2016 and is scheduled to end November 25, 2016

HOTEL ACCOMMODATION

You are requested to make your own hotel accommodation.

Recommended hotel for students will be posted.
