At EIASM, the necessary actions and precautions are being taken to ensure a safe environment for our activities, faculty and participants. The EDEN DOCTORAL SEMINAR ON METHODS, TECHNIQUES AND THEORIES IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND INNOVATION is now moved to an ONLINE format.

The seminar introduces the participants to the methods, techniques and theories commonly used in their research area. It also offers possibilities for young researchers to get in contact with their peers, to explore new avenues of thinking, to learn collectively and to exchange ideas in a very active and stimulating way. The emphasis is on interactive learning with peers about the practical aspects of setting up a research project

Wednesday 9 December: High tech startups and Quantitative theory testing method (Massimo Colombo) Focus 1: High-tech start-ups: what we know and open research issues (lecture) Stylized facts on the performance of high-tech start-ups: Knowledge gap, funding gap and firms’ growth performance; Strategic alliances: antecedents and effects on performance; Financing high-tech start-ups: alternative financing channels and performance effects Focus 2: Quantitative methods for testing theories about the performance of high-tech startups (groupwork and plenary discussion about selected papers): Definition of theoretical hypotheses; Choice of sample of firms; Choice of econometric models and model specification; Interpretation of results; Ruling out alternative explanations. The participation fee is 1100 € (VAT exempt). This fee includes participation to the seminar, the documents, lunches and 1 group dinner. EIASM SCHOLARSHIPS CANCELLATION POLICY Cancellations made before November 15, 2021 will be reimbursed with 10% deduction of the total fee. No reimbursement will be possible after this date.
