High quality of doctoral training is an important driver of quality of Management Research in Europe. One of the core objectives of the European Institute of Advanced Studies in Management (EIASM) is to enhance the development and the quality of doctoral student education in the field of management, and the EIASM’s European Doctoral Education Network (EDEN) with its successful Doctoral Seminar programme, has been a valuable asset in fulfilling this objective.
EIASM is pleased to announce the forthcoming symposium on ‘Doctoral Training in Management Research: The Next 25 Years’ which will take place on 29th September 2014 at the Hotel Metropole in Brussels. This event coincides with an important occasion which marks the EIASM history: the 25th anniversary of the EDEN programme. EIASM is also pleased to continue on this occasion the discussion/debate started last year at the EIASM Forum on Research Quality.
This symposium will bring together EDEN alumni and professors, as well as the EIASM Academic Council school representatives, mainly Deans and Research Deans. The conveners of the event will be Chris Chapman, Imperial College London and EIASM Vice President (as well as EDEN Professor), and Willem Buijink, Tilburg University and EIASM's Academic Director.
Seven distinguished speakers from the EDEN alumni and EDEN professors, past and present, will share their experiences and ideas via seven intensive, short yet profound lectures on the symposium theme as relevant to their areas, namely Accounting, Finance, Industrial Organisation, International Business, Management, Marketing and Operations Management.
