Professor David Collings,
David Collings is Professor of HRM and Associate Dean for Research at Dublin City University Business School in Ireland. He previously held faculty positions at the University of Sheffield and National University of Ireland, Galway and visiting positions at King’s College London, Nanyang Business School in Singapore and Cornell University as a Fulbright Scholar. In 2020 he will be James M. Flaherty Visiting Professor at Simon Fraser University, Canada. He is a leading international expert on talent management, global mobility and the future of work. He has been named as one of the most influential thinkers in the field of HR years by HR Magazine on four occasions. He has published numerous papers in leading international outlets and eleven books and his work is regularly cited in media and other outlets. He is former Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of World Business, Human Resource Management Journal and the Irish Journal of Management and sits on the editorial boards of multiple journals including Academy of Management Review, Journal of Management and Journal of Management Studies. He is the 2020 Program Chair of the HR Division of the Academy of Management.
Professor Anthony McDonnell,
Anthony McDonnell (BBS, MCIPD, PhD) is Full Professor of Human Resource Management and Head of the Department of Management and Marketing at the Cork University Business School (CUBS), UCC. Prior to joining UCC, he was Head of the Management Group and Reader in Management at Queen's University Belfast, and has also held appointments at the University of South Australia and University of Newcastle (Australia). Anthony's research expertise and interests reside in the areas of talent management and international human resource management. His research has been funded by the Australian and Irish Research Councils and Ireland Canada University Foundation. He has an extensive publication record in the leading international journals including the Journal of World Business, Human Resource Management (US), Human Relations, Industrial and Labor Relations Review, International Journal of Human Resource Management, Management International Review and Human Resource Management Journal. Anthony is also Editor-in-Chief of Human Resource Management Journal, sits on the Editorial Advisory Boards of 5 journals, is an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at the University of South Australia, and is Vice-Chair of the Irish Academy of Management.
Hugh Scullion is a professor in International HRM at Hull University, and previously worked at Warwick, Newcastle, Nottingham and Strathclyde Universities. His international research reputation in International HRM and Global Talent Management is evidenced by publications in leading journals ( e.g the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of World Business and Human Resource Management Journal), publication of leading books in the field and over 8,550 citations reflecting the influence of his work He is editorial board member of six leading journals and is known for developing strong research collaboration with leading institutes in India (Indian Institute of Management) and the CEE supported by research grants from the Global Challenges Research Fund. He is co- chair of the EIASM Talent Management Workshop.
He has consulted widely in Europe ( e.g Rolls Royce, Sun Microsoft, Boots plc and East Riding of Yorkshire Council ) and in Asia ( e.g Telecom Malaysia and National Productivity Board of Singapore ). He is founder and chair of the Humberside HR Directors Group and advises organisations on strategic HR issues.

Professor Nicky Dries
Nicky Dries is a Research Professor at the KU Leuven, Faculty of Economics and Business, Belgium and a Research Fellow at Vlerick Business School. She is a previous Fulbright scholar at Boston University School of Management. Nicky’s primary research interests are employee talent, potential, and success—and more broadly, the interplay of organizational-strategic and individual-psychological factors in shaping careers. Her research has been published in international journals in the areas of career management, human resource management, and industrial-organizational psychology. She is an Associate Editor at Applied Psychology: An International Review, and is on the editorial boards of Journal of Vocational Behavior (JVB), Journal of World Business (JWB), Human Resource Management Journal and European Journal of Work and Organizational Psychology (EJWOP). In 2016, Nicky was selected to be featured on AcademiaNet, the European database of leading women in science.
To continue growing a forum for academic exchange of conceptual and empirical (qualitative or quantitative) research in the area of talent management. The workshop has a strong developmental focus and as such encourages research which may be in progress as well as completed research.
We invite papers from a wide range of disciplinary traditions that explore talent management issues from both theoretical and practical perspectives, and we encourage papers which are multi-disciplinary and cross-disciplinary in nature.
We welcome empirical papers from both qualitative and quantitative traditions. We would particularly welcome papers from regions and countries which have to date been underrepresented in debates on talent management.
