COVID 19 - Final Information


At EIASM, the necessary actions and precautions are being taken to ensure a safe environment for our activities, faculty and participants.

Consequently, we have decided to postpone the face-to-face 2020 Workshop on Corporate Governance and instead offer an 

online program this year

Professor David R. BEATTY 
Rotman School of Management
University of Toronto, Canada

Professor David R. Beatty is the Managing Director of the David & Sharon Johnston Centre for Corporate Governance Innovation at the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. Over his career, he has served on many boards of directors and been chair of nine publicly traded companies in Canada, Australia, the US, Mexico and the United Kingdom. In 2018 he was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by the International Corporate Governance Network. He was the founding Managing Director of the Canadian Coalition for Good Governance (2003 to 2008) and the founder of the Canadian Directors' Education Program.

BACKGROUND

To create a unique forum for worldwide academic exchange of qualitative and quantitative research in the areas of International Corporate Governance, Strategic Direction and Control of Private and State Owned Companies as well as Not for Profit Organizations, HR Governance and Responsible Board Leadership.

Research in all stages (PhD thesis, research in progress, and completed research) is welcomed.

CALL FOR PAPERS

This 17th Research Workshop will address:

  • Part 1: INTERNATIONAL CORPORATE GOVERNANCE
    (including Comparative Governance, Sectoral Governance and Compliance in specific countries)
     
  • Part 2: STRATEGIC DIRECTION
    (including Owners Strategy, Strategic Board Directives, Board Composition, Board Culture and Board Structure)
     
  • Part 3: HR GOVERNANCE
    (including Nomination, Review, Compensation, Training and Succession Planning of the Supervisory and Managing Boards)
     
  • Part 4: STRATEGIC CONTROL
    (including Integrated Reporting, Internal and External Auditing, Internal Control, IT Governance and Risk Oversight on the Board Level)
     
  • Part 5: RESPONSIBLE BOARD LEADERSHIP 
    (including Direction and Control of Collective Values and Ethical Compliance)
     


    To present a paper at the workshop, authors should submit
    1 page abstract by 

    October 15, 2020 (extended deadline)


    To be acceptable, proposals MUST be submitted only through this web site!!

For participants affiliated with an institution that is member or associate member of the EIASM's
Academic Council
151,25 € (including 26,25 € VAT)
For participants coming from another academic institution 187,55 € (including 32,55 € VAT)

Cancellations made before October 16, 2020 will be reimbursed minus 20% of the total fee. No reimbursement will be possible after that date.
