As a PhD research proposal is of vital importance for a successful PhD trajectory, this event provides the opportunity to present and discuss this proposal to a panel of senior colleagues and peers. Therefore, we welcome submissions of proposals on all issues regarding public sector (financial) management.
Almost twenty years ago (in 2002) EIASM started to organize a series of conferences on public sector management. One of the solid elements of it became a program for PhD students where they could discuss their research proposal. In order to make participation in the main programme possible, the PhD programme used to be organized in the morning before the main program started. As a result of COVID-19, the EIASM Public Sector Conference 2020 had to be postponed to 2021, but fortunately the Emerging Scholars Programme could be continued online. In 2021, the Emerging Scholars Programme will be organized on a separate date, two weeks before the main conference will be held.
Emerging scholars are invited to submit a research proposal (including a literature review, research questions and research design). This research proposal may be either the proposal for the full PhD trajectory or one that focuses on a part of it. As such, also the opportunity is provided to discuss ideas about (succeeding) phases of the PhD. Accepted proposals will be presented to an online audience of senior colleagues and peers. Participants are asked to be a discussant of another proposal.
The best research proposal will be granted the Kerry Jacobs Best Research Proposal Award. This award is named after our former colleague professor Kerry Jacobs who was well-known for his enormous efforts in stimulating junior and other colleagues to strengthen the quality of their research. The name of the winner of the best proposal award will be presented at a plenary session of the main conference.
Submission of proposals: 30 June 2021
FEES This event is free of charge but reserved only to accepted presenters.
