CALL FOR PAPERS

The goal of the conference is to bring together international scholars working on current issues in taxation. The attendance and moderating function of the keynote speakers offers an excellent possibility to receive meaningful feedback for submitted work. 
 
Relevant topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
  
Determinants, measures and consequences of tax avoidance.
Accounting for income taxes. 
Tax uncertainty, tax compliance, and tax risk. 
Taxation of multinational corporations. 
Taxes and managerial decision-making.
Proposals for tax reforms, tax policy, and recent legislative or regulatory changes. 
Taxation and Sustainability.   
Economic and financial consequences of tax incentives.
International tax sheltering.
                                                                                                          
Discussion: Each accepted paper will be discussed by another workshop participant, giving participants the unique opportunity to receive thorough and individual feedback on their research project. Each participant is expected to serve as discussant to someone else’s paper.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Full papers as well as proposals can be submitted.
 
The submitted papers/proposals should consist of a cover page and the body of the proposal. Please note that the papers/proposals have to be submitted online as ONE document, created in one of the following compatible formats: Adobe Portable Document Format (.pdf) or Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx).
 
The COVER PAGE should be a separate sheet including the following information:
Title 
Each Author’s name, his/her affiliation, address, telephone, fax, e-mail
 
The BODY of the paper/proposal should include: 
Topic of research and research question
Research method and design 
Underlying theory 
Contribution to prior research
(Expected) results 
 
Please submit your paper at: www.eiasm.org by following the steps below:

Here is the procedure to upload your final paper (PDF only):

  • go on the EIASM web site (https://www.eiasm.net)
  • click on "Workshops & conferences / Event administration"
  • enter your login (which is your e-mail)
  • add your password (in case you have forgotten one of these items, please follow the procedure indicated).
  • at that stage, you will see that the final version of your paper is needed. Clicking on "details" enables you to upload it
  • In case the title is different from the title of the abstract you submitted, please modify it.
  • once it’s done, don't forget to click on the "SAVE" button.

DEADLINES

Proposal or Paper Submission: April 1, 2024; 
Author Notification: Notification has been sent to authors on April 29, 2024
Application for volunteer discussions: May 1, 2024
Registration of authors: May 30, 2024
Final papers: June 30, 2024

CALL FOR DISCUSSANTS

The general rule is that each presenter has to discuss one other paper. However, we welcome participants who do not present a paper but volunteer as discussant. If you volunteer as discussant, please send an email to taxsymposium@wiwi.uni-muenster.de

Close to central Porto: For the hotels below, participants need to take the metro; stations are available in several central areas including Boavista/Cása Musica.
The use of the metro is intuitive.

FEES 

  • Fee for EIASM Academic Council members: 345 Euro (+VAT)
  • Regular fee: 395 Euro (+VAT)

The fees include: participation to the conference, access to the conference documents, 2 lunches, 1 conference dinner, morning and afternoon refreshments. 

   
For participants affiliated with an institution that is member or associate member of the EIASM's
Academic Council
424,35 € (including 79,35 € VAT)
For participants coming from another academic institution 485,85 € (including 90,85 € VAT)

Cancellations made before June 12, 2024 will be reimbursed minus 20% of the total fee. No reimbursement will be possible after that date.
