The Institute for Research in Economics and Business Administration (SNF)

The purpose of this workshop is to promote the application of economic analysis in accounting research. Following the great success of several previous workshops in a row, this workshop again offers a forum to thoroughly discuss recent research using this methodology.
Economic analysis is an important research tool to structure the research process and derive powerful insights into accounting procedures and institutions. Over the years, it has been successfully used to analyse a wide variety of problems within financial and managerial accounting, auditing, and corporate governance. The models provide convenient structures to analyse stewardship uses of information, budgeting, and intra- and inter-organisational relationships, as well as interactions between accounting information and markets.
Participants are invited to present their own work in the field, to provide a formal discussion of papers presented by other participants, or to simply participate in the discussions. The benefit of participating is to present and get feedback to own research, to be on the forefront of the research, and to discuss issues related to economic analysis.
